If there were a real need for non-smoking only restaurants and pubs, then market forces would create them. The key in this story is how the pub association lobbied for a total ban because they feared a partial ban would give smoking business a financial advantage. You see the problem is that if people are allowed to use their free will they might not make the right choices.<\/p>\n
If the government wants to promote non-smoking restaurants and bars then they should offer tax incentives for those kinds of establishments, instead of legislating away business owner\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s rights.
