These two words are variables that change over time. Generally speaking liberals want change and conservatives would like stability and the status quo. I am personally sick of these two labels and would like people to start using labels that actually describe the politicians in a way that is easier to understand to the laymen. Libertarian and Socialist do this better than conservative or liberal. All I want to know is: are you for civil liberties and less government (libertarian) or more government control and distributed wealth (socialist)? When politicians are correctly labeled it is easier to see who stands where.<\/p>\n<p>By the way I&#8217;m a libertarian.
